Hi!

I’m a young programmer and gamer. That being said I probably have already created a certain archetypical image before your minds eye. Since I’m only partially matching what you imagine I’d like to spend a few words on me, myself and I to bring your impression closer to the actual me. ^^

First a word about my seriousness regarding programming and gaming. It’s now about 13 years since the first program I wrote. During this time I’ve seen quite a few programming languages and written quite a few lines of code. So I tend to regard myself as fairly capable, though not expert, programmer.
My focus in gaming was, is and will probably always be RTS games. I’ve played most of the well known games and even reached a good level in some of them though I’m far from being able to call myself ‘pro’ by any measure. I’ve also played a couple of other genres most commonly shooters. Before you ask, there is no specific game I’d like to mention here.

Now on to the difference between me and other programmers or gamers. First of all – I’m neither freak nor geek. At least not by the standards anyone even remotely active within either area applies. I’m spending quite some time at my PC but mostly at a casual level and (mostly ^^) not at the expense of what most call ‘real life’. (I’m not going into a philosophic digression about what ‘real’ is and especially not one about a definition of ‘life’ either! ^^)
More important than how intense my PC related activities are is probably which non-PC related activities I have, so let’s get into that for a bit now.

Well, since I’ve already written so much here, lets keep the remainder short and simple.

I’m playing Magic the Gathering a TCG/CCG, several Pen & Paper RPGs as well. I’m also fascinated by martial arts and sword fighting and occasionally train the later one. Aside from that I also like to read and to take a walk (especially at night or right before a thunderstorm).
